Heirloom Series

We are honored to have been so well received over the last few years with our Era Series Guitars. The price is right, the specs are fixed and they play & sound incredible. Lance, Lisa and the team are grateful for all the support from our dealers and fans.

After much consideration and careful thought. We have decided not to bring forth a new line of guitars that “breaks the mold” in 2026. We feel that after such a powerful shift throughout the boutique guitar world in 2024/2025, the answer is clear. Let’s go back to our roots. Let’s get back to the basics of boutique guitars built right. This is the heart of the new Heirloom Series…

Heirloom is a journey back to the old days when Lance first left his home shop and went into business officially. One owner after another came to realize that his guitars had a life of their own, and they didn’t require specialized features or modernized processes. They were simply great guitars that made you want to pick them up and play them often.

A Return To Our Roots

This series is simple, functional and traditional. Alder bodies and quarter-sawn maple necks rather than roasted bodies and necks have been selected for Heirloom. Why? Because they are foundational, versatile and proven for excellent tone and longevity. Vintage look and feel define Heirloom.

Nitrocellulose full gloss finishes have been a staple for LSL since our inception. Lance would have it no other way. We firmly believe that poly is the enemy of tone. Why would you want to trap the natural vibrations of the body within a tone tomb of plastic? Heirloom will feature luxurious gloss nitro finishes in most vintage colors including bursts and metallics. Finish checking will be on every guitar along with light, tasteful aging.

We will be breaking our own rule on this series as well. For the greater good. The Era Series is available in a small handful of traditional colors. However a flash coat finish does not lend itself to metallic colors and burst finishes. They require more layers of paint, therefore can not be flash coats.

With standard full gloss finishes on Heirloom, we are able to allow for the most popular metallic and burst finishes. This will help dealers carry something special and not have too many of the same color on the market. This also allows our fans and owners to obtain their favorite vintage colors easily.

Medium C neck shapes will be standard with an ultra fast and smooth satin finish. Gloss necks are vintage, yes. But they also get sticky .
